This has been a difficult year, unlike any other, but we will continue to look forward to a better new year as usual.

 

As such, I wish everyone a safe and healthy Christmas, and an even better New Year!!!

Fan Art: Mordred Alter - Fate/Grand Order

Thinking about FGO lately, I got really into speculating servant possibilities again; hypothesizing and theory crafting cool stories behind their addition and lore. Having always felt that the interactions between Artoria and Mordred are intentionally avoided in FGO, I wondered if there can be an opportunity for the two to really confront each other. This lead me to think about the idea of Mordred Alter again; rekindling my desire to draw her.

I am satisfied with the results, but I do also feel like I may have gotten a little ahead of myself; trying to do too much at once. It became quite hard to keep track of everything as I finished the drawing. This is definitely another point of focus in my improvements moving forward.

There are four main sources of inspiration for this drawing:  

1. Watching the Chinese Drama "Find Yourself". (Great drama, highly recommended.)
2. Listening to the song "過客" sang by "阿涵". (One way to translate: "Passerby" sang by "Ah Han".)
3. Seeing the view count on my "Reminiscence" drawing increase. Haha. (Definitely had influence.)
4. Watching G.E.M's music video for her song "Long After".

Watching the drama really put me in the mood, and listening to the song reinforced it and directed the mood towards a slightly different direction. Then seeing how one of my drawings, with a similar theme, is doing well recently made the decision to draw this easy.

To be honest I was going to draw this sooner or later since it's something I really want to capture. I am very proud that I accomplished it. It really turned out great. I do wish I could do more with the backgrounds again, but that'll have to be for next time.

Fan Art: Arash - Fate/Grand Order

After becoming enlightened to the power of Arash in Fate/Grand Order (FGO), I felt like I had to draw a fan art of him.

This was a challenge for me since I've yet to draw effects in my drawings, so I was quite nervous going into the drawing. I could have done something else, but it's Arash, so it just felt right to draw him using his Noble Phantasm, "Stella".

Seeing as how there are so many interpretations of Stella out there, I decided to take a different approach. Instead of drawing the moment he releases his arrow, I drew the moment he draws his arrow; capturing the power of the shot during it's preparation, as opposed to it's recoil.

Hopefully I did a good enough job getting the idea across.
